SiteTiki’s Privacy Policy
In the course of business, SiteTiki acquires, stores, and transmits communications with Visitors, Registered Users, and Website Owners and Maintainers (collectively “Users”) and information that Users may regard as private or sensitive. Some of this information - such as the User's name, address, telephone number, and credit card data - is provided to SiteTiki by its Users in order to establish services. Other information - such as the Users's account status, choice of services, and User logs - is created and maintained by SiteTiki in the normal course of providing service.
SiteTiki also may use cookies and pixel tags. Cookies are small pieces of information that a web site can store in a designated file on a User's computer for various reasons. For example, SiteTiki uses cookies to track what pages a User visits and what pages a User edits. Pixel tags may be used to serve specific advertisements on a User. For more information on both of those, please see “How is User Information used?” below.
This Privacy Policy applies only to SiteTiki's treatment of data collected online, and does not apply to any offline data collection practices or to the data collection practices of any third parties, SiteTiki Users, Subject Websites, or any entities affiliated with SiteTiki. Also, please note that use of SiteTiki's website constitutes acceptance of this Privacy Policy. SiteTiki's policies and procedures for handling User information have been created with the understanding that Internet technologies are still evolving and that Internet business methods are continuing to evolve to meet the needs and opportunities of the changing technologies. As a result, SiteTiki's policies and procedures are subject to change. Changes will be posted to the website and Users agree to be bound by those changes.
Registered Users may subscribe to receive notifications of modifications to our Privacy Policy in their Account Information. Visitors may subscribe to receive notifications of these modifications by sending a request e-mail to support AT SiteTiki DOT com. Data Security
SiteTiki protects the confidentiality of its User’s information, account information and personal communications. To secure the information collected online, prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy and ensure only appropriate use of information that is collected from customers, SiteTiki has implemented appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures. Further, SiteTiki requires that employees keep customer information confidential. SiteTiki cautions its Users that no medium of communication, including the Internet, is entirely secure. Accordingly, SiteTiki cannot be responsible for loss, corruption or unauthorized acquisition and use of personal information provided to our website, or for any damages resulting from such loss, corruption, unauthorized acquisition or unauthorized use.
How is User information used?
SiteTiki may share User information with selected partners, for example, to provide Users with information about products which might be of interest to the User or to enable the User to take advantage of special partner programs. SiteTiki may also use User information to provide its Users with system information or information about new or upgraded products.
When anyone visits SiteTiki.com, (whether a Registered User or not) SiteTiki may send your computer a Cookie to identify your browser. Cookies allow SiteTiki to track and compile your browsing habits on the Site. SiteTiki uses Cookies for such functions as verifying whether you are a Registered User and tracking your visits to the Site. SiteTiki further uses Cookies to determine the number of Visitors that visit the Site. Your Cookie number is also used to create usage paths and to correlate those with any demographic information you provide, but SiteTiki does not use such cookies or usage paths to attempt to determine your identity. SiteTiki may use Cookies to serve specific advertisements to you on SiteTiki based on your browsing habits which were tracked by the Cookies.
SiteTiki may also use pixel tags (also known as clear gifs) in connection with e-mails SiteTiki may send you (provided you consent to receive emails) to let SiteTiki know if you opened the email. SiteTiki also may use pixel tags to track your browsing habits on SiteTiki. SiteTiki uses pixel tags to gauge the effectiveness of certain communications and the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. SiteTiki may use pixel tags to serve specific advertisements to you on SiteTiki based on your browsing habits which were tracked by the pixel tags. The information collected through pixel tags is not personally identifiable.
In the case of a business transaction, including but not limited to, a merger or sale of a portion of SiteTiki's assets, User information will likely be part of the assets transferred. In this event, Verio will attempt to notify impacted Users that their information has been transferred. In order to receive these notifications, as well as notifications that the Privacy Policy has changed, you must register with SiteTiki.
Opt Out & Modifications
Registered Users may opt out of receiving notices of new or upgraded products from SiteTiki and SiteTiki partners by modifying their registration. However, Registered Users may not opt out of receiving information from SiteTiki which is essential for maintaining or updating customers' accounts or system information.
Most browsers allow you to disable Cookies (i.e., not allow SiteTiki’s servers to send Cookies to your browser); however, some of SiteTiki’s services may not function properly if you disable Cookies.
Disclosure of customer information and communications
SiteTiki will not otherwise disclose its Users' personal and account information unless SiteTiki has reason to believe that disclosing such information is necessary to identify, make contact with, or bring legal action against someone who may be causing harm or interfering with the rights or property of SiteTiki, SiteTiki’s Users, Verio (the company that runs SiteTiki.com), or others, or where SiteTiki has a good faith belief that the law requires such disclosure.
SiteTiki also will not, except for reasons stated below, disclose to third parties the contents of any electronic mail or other electronic communications that SiteTiki stores or receives from its Users. The circumstances under which SiteTiki will disclose such electronic User communications are when:
1. it is necessary in order to provide service to the User;
2. it is necessary to protect the legitimate interests of SiteTiki and its Users;
3. it is required to cooperate with interception orders, warrants, or other legal process that SiteTiki determines in its sole discretion to be valid and enforceable; and
4. it is necessary to provide to a law enforcement agency when the contents are inadvertently obtained by SiteTiki and appear to pertain to the commission of a crime.
SiteTiki disclaims any intention to censor, edit or engage in ongoing review or surveillance of communications stored on or transmitted through its facilities by Users or others. SiteTiki will, however, review, delete or block access to communications that may harm SiteTiki, its Users or third parties. The grounds on which SiteTiki may take such action include, but are not limited to, actual or potential violations of SiteTiki's Acceptable Use Policy.
